Rhodri Jones is an independent photographer working on long-term projects that document transformations in socio/cultural identities. This website aims to present some of his personal projects directly, avoiding any political and/or commercial manipulation.
Rhodri, born in Gwynedd, Cymru/Wales in 1963, moved to Italy in 1982 and became an Italian citizen in 2022. Rhodri has worked as a professional photographer on both personal and commissioned projects around the world since 1989.
Described by Magnum photographer, Philip Jones Griffiths as “a Welsh poet with a camera”, Rhodri has exhibited in China, Eire, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, UK and USA and participated in group shows in several other countries. Distributed by Panos Pictures since 1992, his images have been used by leading magazines, newspapers, NGOs and publishers worldwide. His work is held in several public and private collections.
